This showcase is bare bones, and understandably so—the business never made it past the planning stages. But it WAS going to be (and someday may still become) a flotation therapy studio in Fort Collins, Colorado. Even though the idea of the therapy is to spend an hour or two literally floating in silence and darkness, the feeling you have at the end of a session is one of incredible lightness and clarity. This is the feeling I wanted to come through in the branding, and the hand-painted Enso ring element brought it all together nicely.
Elegantly defined by Wikipedia, Zen ensō (円相 ) is a circle that is hand-drawn in one or two uninhibited brushstrokes to express a moment when the mind is free to let the body create. As an artist who loves to float, this felt too perfect to ignore.
